Bangalore Blues…

Bangalore is cool place to be in… that’s why it’s a bit over crowded… triggering to nuisance across… mostly on the road! (housing is another… see house hunt)

The foremost are the Autos! First they refuse to get hired and then put a condition for being hired … For a 6 km ride auto driver asks 70/- (actual is 30/-)… at 6 pm (1.5 times after 10pm) from Brigade Rd to Swagath Theatre. The driver says blatantly that he’ll charge 70/- for going to the destination and I can put a complaint anywhere if I want to. Consider this… by the time he’ll reach the destination, it will be an end of show at the theatre … and he can get his “sawari” again… but the response is that he won’t get it there!!! Amusing and frustrating …

The other aspect is of the two wheelers … seems like rules don’t apply to them… for one there are few roads and fewer footpaths… and in traffic congestions (peak time of the day) they don’t mind riding over the footpath too… where should the pedestrian go!!!

Further, BMTC buses are the biggest nuisance on the roads… they ride as of they own he streets and no one else has right to use … they’ll stop in the middle of the road forcing the commuters to get down and face the music of the bikes and cars overtaking from sides… and I really get amazed about the 90 degrees turns by the buses…

I hope the corporation /govt. does something about it soon… otherwise the so called garden city (as very few gardens remain) will be nothing less than a concrete village …

Summary: politics take the toll to the development … people aggravate the problems by abusing the loopholes… and politician eat the pie!

It’s 7/7 now …

I am sure associated terrorists must have been disappointed with the number of casualties in the London blasts. With less than 50 (by God’s grace) the intensity of the 7 blasts has diminished to almost nil… esp. when compared to 9/11 WTC collapse.

Whatever… one thing comes to fore front very clearly… the so called BIG daddies are the least secure of all the places … let it be US or UK … infact these blasts are a big Qs mark on the face of their security, who boast of one of the best defense in the world.

I am filled with admiration for those guys who plan out these evil acts so meticulously … planning to the core details … with proper timings… and who does what… (a perfect example of project management) …wish something similar is done by the concerned authorities to prevent these! (though I know it is easier said than done, as the stakes in prevention is much higher than just destruction!)

In London, though the mass transit system has been jeopardized (which will take huge investments and time to bring the system back into action), the good thing is that people are back into action (though still grappling with fear) and trying to bring the life normal.

The thing that hurts me most is the extremism that is taken in the name of religion. It has just given me another reason to question the Islam as religion… (reasons like jihad, fatwa, parda, … which has lost its meaning in due course of time). However, having said this I must also add … I hate extremist patronization of Hinduism and their propagandas too!

Book Fever…

A book shop or a book fair… is the last place I want to be in … as I end up buying a lot of them… (and not necessarily read all!)

Yup! There is a book fair going on in Accenture, and I just spent a whole lot of money (around 2.5k) … few new ones… (like Prahlad’s Pyramid) and few oldies… (JL’s Namesake)… in total around 6 books… (@20% discount)!!!

I am sure the next few nights are busy :D

Changing Gears…

After a long battle with the self … I have got an opportunity to move on a track I wanted to run on… yup… (those who guessed it)… I will be shifting from Accenture (IDC) to (back to) Wipro… with a role of sales support & pre-marketing in the Retail Vertical. It was a good feeling as now I don’t have to restart my career from scratch… I am going to change the track over my past… :)

Hope I get what I am thinking I will get ;)

PS: dates of changeover yet to be finalized…

Just another weekend…

Sometime I feel time is flowing and sometime I feel that it has just stopped… you have too much to do, just don’t know where to begin from … you have too many things to do, just don’t feel like doing anything… like waiting for an action/ activity to begin the “reaction” of the mind-body-&-soul!

Last weekend, I virtually did nothing… just lazed around… (watching idiot box and switching channels) … felt like some trigger is missing to activate the catalytic reaction within the body to synchronize the heart and mind…

The Qs of choices…

Well this is inspired by the Baba’s blog http://the-complete-man.blogspot.com/2005/06/because-i-choose-to.html

I agree to an extent (rather quite a lot) on the theme… “it’s up to us what we choose to do”… it is we choose to do or we choose not to do!... there is nothing like we do not choose!

However, what if you confront with a situation where you don’t have choices

Life is similar to a game of chess… you have multiple moves, parallel to each other… however, in due course, there are certain moves which are compulsive … where you cannot choose to make a move (from two or more options) … there is only one move! (for instance, at check and king has only one move to save himself). Otherwise you are dead (you don’t choose to die… that’s the end of game). In life also, we face a lot of such circumstances. In a game of chess, you can choose to die, in life that’s also not really in your hands. It is result of certain choices you made prior to it. But, at this particular point it is dead end… and you have to follow what the path is following… there are no options… (even if you don’t want to do it).

I’ll give my example. I choose to leave my job for further studies, I choose to go for placement procedures, but ended up having no choices to select a company for myself. I was enforced to select the path given to me (it was not - take it or leave it… it was you have to take it)…

One possible scenario can be made in terms of choices … reject the offer and get out of process! But that would have been an end! (end of game – check mate). The Qs of self-realization does not occur at all… even though I can have self realization – I CHOOSE to exist in matrix – in the illusionary world (I know it is an illusion, still…)

Confused… well I am too!!!
