Book Reviews (opinions) ...

Chankya Chant

After a long time I picked up this one … curiously … while just walking down an aisle at a book store … The TV serial “Chandragupt Maurya” … and intrinsic urge to know more on Chanakya were key to this impulse … and I don't regret it …

The good part is that it's combination of both fiction and some elements of mythological truths … It covers the ancient piece and a modern story to cover that base. The modern story is very realistic … and you can indirectly relate to the political situation within the Indian power lobby … Like Chanakya, there is another guru to bring in a revolution … though the means are not as justified …

The key take away / learning from the content I took … objective / goal is key to success … however, renunciation to the economy (read excess money) and emotions (read relationship) is core ingredient to success …

Rosabel Line

Dare I say the Indian version of Dan Brown … well this one is multi cultural to start with … try to conclude on a philosophical note of “One God” message … The book is page turner … however, my personal issue with the story moving back n forth in time scale … no specific order … placed to justify some notes … the author went into multiple time zones in a single piece …

I like to book overall as it places some of the factual content and then envelops the fiction around it … good thought provoking … little controversial too ...
