Memories down the Delhi lane …
For my business visa, they asked me to visit Delhi (rather than Chennai) … and when I booked my acco – they gave me in Malviya Nagar … this triggered the nostalgia … it was `94 when I lived in this place for almost an year … a quite of the main road having a small market of its own … with very friendly people … I was taking a pre-JEE coaching from IIT Study Circle (at Green Park) and used to stay here… I had my first hand of cooking here only … there were four of us … a cousin of mine studying in DPS-RKP, and two other – who were with me in the same coarse. They were Manavendra and Bhupendra – both from Bihar – but extremely different from their nature. Bhupi was quite, shy and philosophical while Manu was body builder type – a “bihari” as we normally perceive – but very studious. There were few buses we used to take to commute between home and center. It was my first face-to-face with the real world – literally.
My stay at Mlv’ngr was very short this time – couldn’t even visit the market. After I returned from visa interview, I immediately went to a friends’ place in Gurgaon – where I had luxury of having home cooked food. I relaxed a lot and caught up with a good pal of mine – and a great time. The next day, I returned to Delhi – with another good friend and stayed over his place … it was good catching up with him – especially when I couldn’t make it for his wedding. The Sunday was devoted to one of my best friends – whom I met after a long-long time. It was really fun shopping for her – we went over so many shops hunting for few winter wears … finally we got some at West Side at lajpat. After a few more general shopping – it was time to bid her good buy too … and that was my visit to Delhi. I know, there are lots of friends whom I initially planned to meet … but couldn’t – simply because of my laziness …
