In the darkness of ‘Power’
Raebareli has always been in the news for all the VIP level political reasons … but never was provided with the similar treatment… devoid of all the development activities and funding since the time of Indira and Rajiv, it is still one of the most back laid towns in UP … and today, the issues have gone too wild…
Just before by-elections, Raebareli was given 24 hrs power supply – in a SP led govt in state – with a thought that people might out vote Ms Gandhi … well the Congress old fort had anyway different thoughts… and results are obvious… today the situation is that even though there is a NTPC power plant in the district, Raebareli is virtually living in darkness… as the daily power supply is around just 8 hrs – 10hrs (which is also not certain)
Due to this politics of ‘power’ … a city lives in darkness… I can really feel the pain of the students…
Press or Judiciary???
One of the recent incidents, while I was surfing thru channels, I noticed some discussion on one of the recent cases where in the correspondent/ press analyst was grilling on some lady … Qs like where was she in the middle of night… how many phone calls she made… whom did she called and why & what did they talk about… the press actually made an analysis that if you (she) talk to someone (some he) for long in the wee hours well almost daily (they actually managed to get the call history of the lady) – you are in affair with that guy!!!
Whatever, I am strongly against this and especially when press cooks delicious stories (actually sagas) around something that never existed… especially when they don’t even realize and have concern for the impact it will create (constructive and destructive is second thought) … especially trying to be a moral police and judiciary – making or breaking anyone’s life!
I don’t say that all channels are same… but as time passes the maturity level of today’s press is on a decline and which is definitely not good for countries progress.

What Next…
Quota & Reservation Strike…
It ended few days back… but the issue remains open at large… the NDTV Big Fight was worth a watch … few points (rather assumptions) to take away… and I sincerely question these…
- Since parliament is elected by people – every decision it makes is constitutional and for the people…
- It really doesn’t matter if the data is 2 decades old…
- Supreme Court is not the supremo! … It’s the parliament
- If it were not the SC rule of 50% min for General class… the OBC would have been even bigger…
- Govt talking about the moral values
- Govt trying to justify the number 27% …
Politics & Morality
President of India returned the ‘Office of Profit’ bill for re-structuring… and BJP comes out and states ‘victory of morality’ …
I seek an answer from the same BJP spokesperson… where has your morality gone past few weeks when the students of India went on agitation against reservations… how come I didn’t hear a single voice from opposition criticizing the actions of the present govt… (as I here every time there is something really constructive happening)… I presume that the opposition is also looking for the same policy for their vote bank – claming that since the present govt couldn’t do it… we’ll do it … and then they talk of moral values!!!
TAX – MAN!!!
Looks like govt wants all of us to look for entrepreneur ship… read rediff
well from the new tax norms – (tax – returns filling) – only people from the salaried class seemed to be effected… I don’t understand … for all salaried class there is form 16 which you can’t evade – it’s the TDS by the company – and you can’t do much about it… for every other expenses there is TDS … on the other hand, the non-salaried class always find some loop to evade these stupid policies…
Media…
Why do I always come down to media bashing… well they end up doing really idiotic stuff …
It was a case of Rahul Mahajan and the channel was Aaj Tak… the discussion between media spokesperson and lawyer of 3 friends in loop… when Mr Lawyer showed skepticism towards answering few loop-holed Qs… this guy (with beard) … started his own story about how and what happened and added with in between whys too… though the lawyer refuted all what he said… it is now very evident what media cooks up and present… well something like turning plain dal to a five-star hotel’s afghani dish! I had fairly good impression about Aaj Tak… but now I’ll just say I had…
Cricket…
Something I am not good at…
The new player of the media box – W. Jaffer… you wanna know any of his history/ geography… tune into any news channel…
