No job is small job …
We live in a society (typical Indian society), where before
we do anything … I mean anything under the sun, we think “what would others say”
or “what would people say” … here other / people include all the ones who are
directly and indirectly associated with us. Please note that I have used the
word associated and not related … as related is just a subset of associated…
this includes neighbors, colleagues, friends, families, extended families …
general people in our lives like staff/maids … doodhwala, dhobi, etc… etc …
Recent movie “Vicky Donor” is a very good example of the
same… we are ashamed of what we are doing, but we are doing it because it’s
good money … well one can do the same for money or for a social cause (however,
I am not sure if people really did for latter) … if one is ashamed of doing it …
one shouldn’t be doing it! … And I would like to take thought a little forward …
I am talking about career in general.
I should do engg/ med … because my neighbors’ kid has also
done the same … Or I wouldn’t do archeology because it’ll bring down the glamour
quotient of the family (even though I might enjoy most digging around) …
My take from the movie - life is too short to really think on how
small the job is … one should really look for a job they enjoy … and of course,
one that can help run the family …
