Holi - Just another day...

It was just another Holi for me… and as usual I was not in the colors. It’s been quite a while .. 12 years to be precise … since I last played holi … (I was in class 11th then)… I feel that holi is a fest where in you get together with a group of friends… go around the streets and city corners … meet a lot of people … hog on home made sweets … and enjoy the togetherness … a fest of colors and togetherness …

Since 12th there were incidents where I couldn’t play holi… when I came to my engg college… it being in south India… holi was not a game to be indulged in … guys actually went mad with “ink” and whatever they got hold of… I think that was the point when I realized that its enough for me to get indulged in … after the college also in Bangalore… there was no room for a fest like holi… to add the feeling of togetherness was missing…

Last year there could have been chance for me (being back in the college) to get in to the mood of holi… but alas I couldn’t due to undue reasons ... and this year … seeing last years snaps of holi… it was kind of Nah! (even though I had few friends whom I could have enjoyed)

Well its not that I don’t want to play with colors… in fact I enjoy a lot… however it was beyond my dignity or self respect to stand holi being played in and with MUD! I actually slipped off (sheepishly) to one of my school friend’s place and had a quite time there.

But I hope those reading this had a really “colorful” holi and they enjoyed the togetherness…

Freedom

Freedom has different meaning to different people with different context of thinking. Last night baba and I were talking about freedom in a totally different context … freedom - with respect to the human psyche.

Baba boiled* – At a neutral state every thing is at equilibrium … and human race is like virus that grows within the equilibrium and destroys the sanity!

It’s so ironic, that man craves for freedom on one and hand, and looks for a relationship on the other. And by any means a relationship means making boundaries to your freedom… bringing a kind of dependence within his paradigm… like a catch 22!!!

I think about this aspect of freedom in a totally different angle … from a perspective of dependence and independence … moving towards interdependence. I believe one cannot survive alone – and to survive one needs company; but being in company doesn’t mean that you have lost your freedom… if your thoughts are accepted and agreed to be disagreed (too)… you have the freedom you look forward to… there should not be any forced acceptance of any thought!
It’s in your mind – Freedom!

Joy Ride

the name sounds familiar, isn't it... i happened to have one, last sunday ...

well baba bought a new bike for himself... bajaj Discover... from Pune and planned to ride it into Mumbai. Considering the kind of stretch (Pune-Mumbai: non-express way) i offered him my services ... which he gladly accepted. ;)
for me... since I was doing nothing great, a Pune trip was not a bad idea... starting early morning we cought the bus to pune and reached forenoon, had lunch at baba's place and thus our journey back began...

first we went to baba's friends' and then to NDA (man! that's some instt). It was late afti when we hit the Mumbai highway. Then i took over from baba and for another an hour I rode. We took a break at a deserted dhaba - had tea/fanta and swaped the seats (though the a** was already burning)...
We were passing through Lonavala, when I asked baba to stop... I saw a some photogenic moments and tried capturing them. We moved further, and we were just crossing Khandala, I found another spot to shoot. The sun was setting and i was not able to take it my way ;)... we had just moved further and then I realized had we were there 15 mins earlier... it was beautiful valley view and colorful sky... I just missed as it was too dark to capture without tripod... anyway... then I took over from baba as it was downhill (and it was steap!). we rode for an hour and were desparately looking for a eating joint where we can take a break... fortunately, we did find one ... (though not so good either)... had a nibble and we moved on... though it was plains I was riding as baba's eyes were strained. We just rode and rode... at crossroads of Panvel, we had two options ... go via thane or via vashi... we thought thane route might be shorter ... unfortunate of us... it landed us to thane via Mumbra... (this was worst of the patches)... then after 2 hours of continuous riding we landed mumbai and from here baba again took the controls ... and we rode home!!! it was in all around 6 hour journey... (but the painful part was we had to speed max of 50 kmph!) ...
It ws by no means less than "the joy ride" on baba's new bike ...
